Fraser Film Studio

Tucked away in a back corner of Liberty Village is a nondescript looking warehouse, surrounded by other industrial buildings in various phases or re-purposing. While at first glance the warehouse appears to still be an active property, the layers of dust on everything inside tell a different story.

Unfortunately, not a whole lot of information exists online regarding the Fraser Film Studio. Storyboards and sets inside the building give some clues as to their most recent projects (a Whiskas commercial and parts of the 2011 made for TV movie Silent Witness), but their projects beyond these are lost to time.

The building still sees some use, although the level of use is unknown. Several who have it explored it recently have noted that sets and props do change and are moved around on occasion, but without any real indication of when or why.

Unfortunately, one of the people who attended the meet was of looser ethics than myself, and felt it was appropriate to get around a locked door by bashing it in. Now, it was possible to get around this door by using a different stairwell to access the second floor, which made this event even more frustrating. Add to the fact that the door was connected to an alarm, and it led to having to make a very hasty retreat from the building. While I have no proof of who actually did it, I do have a decent idea based on what people said of who the culprit was, and will not be exploring with them again.

In any case, it wasn't a bad way to spend an afternoon, despite the rough ending. Although it's unlikely I will make a point to return, given what happened and the legal uncertainty accompanying it, until the building has been re-purposed in some way.
